About
Helping leaders, teams and organisations find their flow
I sometimes describe myself as a wannabe game park ranger.
Partly because that’s what I wanted to be when I grew up, having spent part of my childhood in East Africa. But mostly because it captures how I approach my work today: paying attention to living systems, noticing where energy flows or gets blocked, and helping create the conditions for people, teams and ideas to thrive.
For nearly 30 years, I’ve worked with leaders, teams, organisations and communities tackling complex challenges through innovation, collaboration and change. The first half of my career sat firmly in the corporate world. Over time, that evolved into work focused less on optimisation alone and more on trust, creativity, learning and momentum.
What I do now
Through Human Energy Co, I work as a trusted advisor, strategist, facilitator and coach. I help create the conditions where energy, trust and learning combine to make meaningful progress possible — especially in complex environments where people have become stuck.
Leadership teams
Helping teams step back, think clearly together, and move forward with greater trust, alignment and momentum.
Innovation and collaboration
Designing learning journeys, accelerators, sprints and working relationships that help diverse people solve hard problems together.
Regenerative transition
Supporting organisations trying to translate regenerative ambition into practical action across sectors, systems and stakeholder groups.
How I got here
My path has moved from corporate innovation and strategy into collaborative innovation, leadership development, creative generosity and increasingly regenerative work shaped by nature as a practical teacher.
Foundation
Corporate innovation
Early career in R&D, brand and innovation strategy across P&G, Differ, Added Value and Lippincott — learning how to connect insight, ideas and action at scale.
Experimentation
Swarm
Building a collaborative innovation platform that brought unusual suspects together around real shared challenges, using co-design, experimentation and collective intelligence.
Community
Good for Nothing
Co-founding a global network built on creative generosity, where diverse people came together to learn by doing and apply their skills to social and environmental challenges.
Now
Human Energy Co
Bringing these threads together through advisory, facilitation and coaching that helps people unlock flow, clearer thinking and wiser action.
Again and again, I find that strategy isn’t the constraint. Energy is.
Much of my work begins when the pressure is on, the stakes are real, and old ways of working are no longer enough. In those moments, my role is rarely to provide the answer. It’s to help create the conditions where better questions, deeper listening, shared ownership and wiser decisions can emerge.
Nature increasingly shapes how I think and work. Not as branding, but as a practical guide. Living systems adapt, relate, regenerate and build resilience through diversity, reciprocity and flow. That lens now informs both how I support organisations and the longer-term nature restoration work I’m developing closer to home.
What I’m focused on now
If you’re working on something like this
I tend to be most useful when a team needs space to think, stronger collaboration across boundaries, or a better way to turn bold intent into coherent action.
If that sounds close to the challenge you’re facing, I’d be glad to hear more.
